This weekend kicks off the 2017 Austin City Limits Festival and the city is buzzing with energy! People from all over flock out at Zilker Park to chill and enjoy the sounds of their favorite artists. The last time I went to ACL was when N.E.R.D. performed so I’m definitely excited to have experienced it this year. Highlights of Friday’s lineup consisted of Crystal Castles, Solange, The xx, Foster the People, Skepta and the King himself, Jay-Z. When it comes to dressing for a music festival, there are definitely no rules! Whatever you choose to wear should be fun, eye-catching and most importantly comfortable! I chose to forgo the typical shorts and the bohemian look for something more quirky.
A music festival is always a place where you experiment with your look without the worry of looking too “out there” because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime fun experience that you should savor! Go all out and wear what you want! I saw so many creative looks from guys and girls alike while cruising the festival grounds. I’m a Texas girl and wanted to pay homage to my roots with this handkerchief-style t-shirt. I think what makes this tee stand out from your typical western wear is that the color way is black and white. How chic! This t-shirt can definitely add a little flair to whatever you pair it with.
I’m a sucker for anything with even a remote hint of shimmer and sparkle. When I found these studded denim jeans at H&M I knew I had to have them! Pairing a black shirt with these jeans accentuates the rhinestone embellishment and tones down the overall look to give that right amount of edge. I’m not a fan of over-accessorizing so I omitted the belt and tucked the tee into the jeans to pull the look together. I found these white Vans a few months ago online and ordered them immediately! It’s something about the graphic lettering on the chunky platform base of these shoes that make them a standout piece to any outfit. These Vans can be worn with almost anything and will add the right amount of edginess to your ensemble.
I’ve had my eye on these Adam Selman x LeSpecs shades for a while now and knew that they would be a great addition to my growing spectacle collection. Rose gold is my thing and these glasses have my name written all over them! From the futuristic cat-eye spy shape to the mirrored lenses, they give you a mysterious and sexy look. I got so many compliments on my shades while at the festival and I think it’s because they’re subtly unique. This particular eyewear style comes in other colors that will compliment a wide array of outfits.
All in all, I had a great time at the festival and got to see my favorite artists perform so I can’t complain! In addition to the music, I think what I enjoy most about these types of events is the chance to dress for the occasion and see how others express their personal style. Are you guys checking out the Austin City Limits festival this year? Do you have any favorite artists you’re dying to see? What’s your favorite way of dressing for music festivals?
