Black Magic Margarita

With Halloween just days away, I bring you a cocktail that will chill your bones! As a kid it was all about dressing up in your favorite costume and going trick-or-treating. Now that we’re adults, Halloween gives us another reason to drink, dress up and hit up a costume party! Being hispanic, the next thing I love the most besides tacos is a good ass margarita! Not a surprise, right? Therefore I bring to you a creepy and tasty cocktail called the Black Magic Margarita. Think of a classic margarita but with a scary twist! It’s simple, refreshing and a perfect choice for a ghoulish Halloween party.

Espolón Blanco is my choice of tequila. It’s smooth and perfect for most cocktails or just on the rocks. For most of my magaritas or palomas, I like to top it off with Topo Chico to give it some fizz. Try this recipe out and tag @mirroredmode on social if you decide to share!

Black Magic Margarita Recipe

1/3 cup of black sanding sugar
2 oz tequila
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 tbsp agave nectar
5-8 ice cubes
1 lime slice for garnish
1 bottle Topo Chico sparkling mineral water
3-4 drops of blue, red and green food coloring

Rim a glass with a lime slice and dip in the black sanding sugar. Next, combine tequila, lime juice, agave nectar and ice cubes into a shaker. Shake vigorously. Using a strainer, pour the mix into glass with ice. Add food coloring and stir until desired greenish-black color is achieved. Top the drink off with Topo Chico and garnish with a lime slice. Enjoy!
