3 Ways to Make Your Wardrobe Shine in the New Year

It’s the first week of January and I’m feeling hopeful for what 2018 has in store! When I think of the New Year, I automatically envision lots of shine and shimmer. I like to incorporate this notion into everything in my life as the idea of illumination gives me a sense of excitement and hope. It’s a tradition for me to wear something outrageously flashy every New Year’s Eve because it’s a fun way to release the past and transition to the future. As we move through the beginning of 2018, I feel that you should celebrate the New Year by letting your wardrobe radiate. I’ve put together some looks that’s sure to get you feeling in a positive and festive groove.

Go Bold with Gold

There’s no better way to battle the winter cold (and celebrate the New Year) by jazzing up your look with an in-your-face bright gold puffer jacket. I grabbed this beauty off ASOS.com around the holidays and have no regrets with my purchase. Every time I wear this baby out, I get compliments and inquiries into where I got it. Although the color is very bold, I feel that anyone can pull off this jacket. It adds a fun element to your wardrobe and keeps you considerably toasty. Gold is a classic and extravagant hue which screams power and confidence, so go out there and strut your stuff in large splashes of it.

Add a Little Sparkle to Your Denim

Shake off 2017 and jazz up your standard denim with some shimmer. I love silvery-rainbow glitter textures paired with denim. I found this pretty little peacock-colored top from Forever 21 and it is perfect as a layering piece. Pair this top with some oversized acid washed denim and you have a look that’s ready to take on new beginnings. You can dress this look up with some statement heels like I’ve done or you can keep it casual with some equally shimmery classic sneakers.

I’ve paired my heels with some glitter-embellished tulle socks I found on Free People. They come in three colors but I fell in love with the rose gold-colored ones. They’re definitely a fun addition to your shoe ensembles as these can be worn with heels, flats and sneakers. Sheer socks will continue to a trend into 2018 so get your hand on a pair and boldly step into the New Year!

Incorporate Some Glimmer Into Your Black Ensemble

I love an all-black ensemble, but feel that for the New Year you can throw a few pops of sheen in. I’ve paired a simple black turtleneck with another marvelous find from Forever. This sheer embellished robe has just the right flair that is versatile enough to be worn with a white classic tee and some distressed denim. To complete the vibe, I’ve added some sparkly glitter pants and furry shoes. To class-up the look, I’ve added these slick frames from Roberi and Fraud. These glasses are a Christmas gift from the hubs and I couldn’t be happier. They instantly elevate any outfit.

I’m hitting 2018 full force and not letting anything stop me from manifesting my visions this year. I plan on living (and dressing) boldly because life is too short not to!
