Spring is in the air and I can’t wait to put away my stuffy winter wardrobe for more liberated clothing! I’m a May-born baby, so I feel that I naturally enjoy the warmer weather. Cold and freezing temperatures are something that I despise under any circumstance. I would much rather be basking in the bright sun on a warm pretty day. As Spring approaches, I cannot help but dream about all the fun and colorful outfits I will ultimately wear this season. One color that instantly reminds me of Spring is white. It’s a crisp clean, and bright hue that is the staple of any wardrobe. How you incorporate white into your outfit can really make or break your look. Here’s some tips on how to wear white this Spring season.
1. Punch It Up with a Block of Color
There’s nothing I love more than wearing bright pops of color. Adding a solid block of color to your white ensemble will really make you stand out. I’ve paired my all-white Spring look with a mustard-yellow denim jacket. What I love about this jacket is that it’s bold yet simple enough to pair well with many outfits. Don’t be afraid to pair your all-white look with a bold red, electric purple or rich emerald green. The possibilities are endless. If you’re going for a dose of color with your all-white look, make sure to keep it concentrated to one piece and don’t over-accessorize with the same color.
2. Don’t Be Afraid to Mix Shades of White
When wearing white you don’t always have to keep the shades in the same family. As you can see I’ve mixed shades of white in my look to add a little interest and depth. My Stan Smith’s have the same color mixture which compliments my top and denim pants accordingly. Mixing white and cream can look chic and subtle if done correctly. Limit the shade mix to a few pieces in order to keep the look ordered and cohesive.
3. Keep It Classic with Black
Black and white will forever be my favorite color combination to wear. It’s edgy, distinct and looks good on everyone. I’ve added a punch of black to my look with these retro cat-eye shades from Zara. They’re an exact dupe of these Adam Selman X Le Specs glasses, but without the hefty price tag. Add a little sophistication to your all white-look by mixing in a few pieces of black. My suggestion is to keep one color more dominant with a small hint of the other if you want to make the most impact.
4. Mellow it Out with Neutrals
For an effortless look, mix neutral colors like tan, beige and gray with white. There’s something about the combination that feels very modern and classic. You can never go wrong with having too many neutral hues in your closet because they are highly versatile. Try pairing a heather gray tee with white trousers or an oatmeal colored pant with a crisp white top or tee. Finish your look with some simple metallic jewelry and nude-colored shoes.
